My life has always revolved around the sea, in the past I earned my living as a Fisherman, a Diver and in the Lighthouse Service.

I started carving in 1993

Whenever possible I use reclaimed pine, this particular wood compliments the birds form and plumage.

Every piece of wood is different therefore every carving has its own unique charm.

Hayle Estuary is just a few minutes walk from my home.

Here I can draw the birds in their natural surroundings.

The bases are usually flotsam and jetsom – I feel they add an extra sculptural quality to the work.
